MOZAЇKA by a Ukrainian electro-folk band Onuka combines experimental electronic music with traditional Ukrainian folk motifs and instruments. “MOZAЇKA” in Ukrainian means "mosaics." Each of the twelve songs of the new album represents a separate piece of music but combined together, аll the compositions symbolically form a single intended plot.
The album cover is using the color palette of the Ukrainian traditional embroidery rushnyk. Color plays an important role in embroidery: red color represents life, sun, and love, while black represents sorrow, death, as well as fertility, prosperity, and wisdom. On the cover, the red color is predominant as a wish for happiness and prosperity. The black squares and rounded shapes that are broken apart represent part of mosaics that will eventually come together.
